Hey i'm upgrading my stock fan clutch to a black magic electric fan and my alt probably isn't up for it. I use to see a 6g alt upgrade on ebay and now its gone. It had everything in it with instructions. Does anybody know where to get it? I dont want the 3g upgrade kit. Thanks for any help!

If we were talking about wire gauge, yea. The lower the #, the larger the o.d. of the wire. The G in 3 and 6 on alternators refers to "generation". If I am incorrect on this, please correct me on this.

Hey, no problem.

Here is a link that may help
http://www.freepatentsonline.com/20060017337.html

http://www.pa-performance.com/display.asp?sku=83&rP=searching,cat@Alternator+Kits,cR@categories

The above link states: Note: “G” means Generation, 1G = 1st Generation, 2G = Second Generation, 3G etc.

If I were you I'd just get a 3G and spend the extra money on a decent electric fan, Black Magic's are crap.

Hey well i like the 6G alt upgrade because it is more powerful then the 3G and it also requires no grinding of the bracket like the 3G upgrade requires. Also i'm kinda looking at the Black Magic Extreme electric fan which is suppose to be alot better then the orginal black magic. It pulls like 3300 or around there of air. And it comes as a kit where as the rest of the fans you have to piece together....

the eBay member who sells those complete 3G kits is "mustang alternator guy" (I don't remember his stangnet name but I know he's on here) last time I checked he hasn't been putting any up for sale so maybe he doesn't have anymore?

Yup, I've helped put one of those kits on two of my good friends rides. Here's one writeup I did: http://www.corral.net/forums/showthread.php?t=904392&highlight=alternator
