I have a 05 281 S/C. I plan to do everything I can, to make this car as fast as i can, safely and tastefully.
Where do I start? and what should I do.
I would love to hear Saleen owner input.
What Have you dune, and what did you got for the money.
Thanks for the help!!

I would get a Ford dealer to install the 475 hp upgrade kit if you can under warranty. Then may a nice set of coilovers. Hope you have the 14"brakes.

Agreed, if you don't have the 14" brake upgrade start there then add more power.

Damn Guys, that's like 3k to do them right isn't it? Id like the 475 kit and will probably do that. is the kit aftermarket or Saleen parts. I don't think the car will be covered under warranty after the 475 kit is installed. Has anybody you know had it installed by ford and covered.

The 475 HP kit is a Saleen kit and is not covered under warranty. Honestly, I'd wait on that kit and see where Saleen/Ford settle with it in the coming months IF you are concerned about warranty. I'm personally taking the wait and see approach. If the Saleen kit is never covered under warranty then as it stands right now JDM will get my business when the time comes.

The brakes are crucial. If you don't already have them you need to get them. There is a reason they became standard equipment on the 2006 SC models.

Hey man, I look at it like this, how often are you going to drive the car? Do you really care about the warranty that much? If you don't I would go with the JDM. Im having mine installed this weekend. I will definately post some pics or videos of it when everything is done. Check out some other forums alot of guys have good results with JDM. My warranty will get voided but im getting my work done by a well known shop so im not too worried about it. I think pretty much anything you do to these saleens will void the warranty...

good points

yes the 45hp upgrade(well i was told by sean at saleen it's 45hp) will void the warranty. but hey, i bought the extended warranty on my 97 saleen with the vortech and had a fully built motor put in by a professional shop. i knew i still had two more years left on the warranty, but i weighed the two out and having more power and enjoying overwhelmingly said to hell with the warranty. my buddy just bought a white 06 281s/c and i know they are heavy, **** my saleen is a convertible and it feels light compared to the 3800 lb 'vert i have. but i am looking into one now(05 or and 06) but it has to be vista blue, s/c, heat extractor hood(which they could have made a little more mean looking) and the brake upgrade. well i forgot, i do want the wing. they have 5 saleens here at the dearship, 3 of them are n/a and two are s/c. the s/c'd ones are a black hardtop one, and then they have a silver 06 convertible s/c'd. i want vista blue, so i'll hold out, i've called and talked to mark lamaskin at performance auto in richmond and he said he would keep an eye out for me. anyways, sorry for the hijacking. you should call saleen and talk with chris or sean, or even carlos. they all are cool guys and as far as i go, they have always lead me into the right direction. good luck.
