Help me out guys. Are these any good??

Ok, they made it to the door. All I can say is .................................................

They rock. And I'm picky. Very shiny and no blemishes, mandrel bent. My current pipes are so bad, I expect to pick up a good 5 or more rwhp out of these. (amazingly when I put on the long-tubes, the car gained 60rwtq down low compared to the shorties. I think big c.i. and/or forced, seemingly small upgrades yields a lot on these cars. But when you have a down right restriction, it help even more.

P.S. 5.0 said they were inspecting them before they went out as a rule now.

frankly, i don't see the point in cutting the tailpipes off and putting on others. mine are 3" into the mufflers and 2 1/2" the rest of the way. imo, it is just an unnecessary expense.

just me

Thanks for the input guys. Chris do you mean the 3" tips? or the 2.5" axleback itself? Because I once had a panhard bar, my axleback pipes are all @#$'d up bc they had to bend the hell out of them to get it too fit.. That's why I bought them them again. In some places, Rick said they look like 1 7/8"...sheesh that's the size of each pipe coming off each cylinder lol. I am speaking of the tips tho. I think the 2.5" looks a bit small so I was thinking of cutting the stainless ends and putting 3" long chrome tips on.

Keith since they are Stainless pipes, get Stainless tips... They will stay polished longer and require way less upkeep over the Chrome, which will rust no matter what. If your going to have the new larger tips welded on they will need to grind a little of the chrome away to try to weld them to the stainless so that seam will need to be painted, welding stainless to mild steel can be done but you need special 309L wire ;)

Would it be stupid to saw off the ends and have them put 3" LONG chrome tips on them?

Does stainless turn like a gold color? Are we going to have to be polishing these things??

you are saying you are going to saw off the brand new pipes you just got? Why?!

I think 2 1/2 looks great as is not too big not too small, I had 3.5 tip and got rid of it, Looks too big on the car, If you gonna cut it why dont you return it and get the 3" tail pipes from MAC? They are shinny as you like and comes with 3" tips already:nice:

There is no point cutting the good pipe, That's just me
