Help me pick my car!

Hey guys, I have owned two stangs . One was an 89 gt with a vortech supercharger, and the other a 91 lx with trick flow heads cam and intake. I loved both cars , I loved the way it made me feel to drive , even if I was just taking it to work. What i didnt love about the cars is that they were so modded I couldnt really drive them everyday. I have had 9 cars/ trucks since i was 17 and I am 19 now. I am sick of throw away cars and i want to purchase something that i can be proud to drive everyday rather than have it sit at home while i daily drive my 86 volvo. I have been saying i want a 99-03 style forever and now i think i'm finally ready. I would like to spend somewhere between 8-12 thousand ( a little bit more if the car is right). I plan to just do gears , a nice full exhaust, and probably a few other things. Nothing crazy because i want to keep reliability. My plan was to find the one with the lowest miles at the best price and go from there. My question is if should i avoid certain years, models , ect. I'd like to hear your ideas about what car i should spend my money on. Also , how many of you dd your car and what kind of mileage , reliability , and problems or gripes do you have. Thanks in advance. Color combos, mods, and generally all positive comments would be greatly appreciated. P.S , car MUST be stick.
