Sorry if Im probably bringing up an old post or something I just need some help on what to do . I have a set of gt40p heads and a set of bbk equal length shorty headers and I put them on my car the thing is my driver side headers fit perfect with clearance but on my passenger side the spark plug on the very end near fire wall hits my header any ideas on what I can do?

Not sure you can bang ebough clearance there. A set on unequals may give you better clearance, but you can certainly try.

Heat the area up with a torch, use a large socket on a 12" extension and lay it where you need to dimple and bang away

i just thought my equals would fit -.- aha but then i forgot these damn heads came with the plugs in a 90 degree angle but i bought some accel shorty plugs to help alittle hopefully it works!! but if not then ima trade my equal lengths for some unequal bbk headers

thanks for advise i will try tomorrow !! i bought some shorty accel plugs aswell to help me from bending my header way more then the standard plug size
Agreed. If you arent able to buy different headers, beat a dent in that tube. Obviously try to keep it minimal, but give yourself enough clearance that the spark plug boot isnt touching it.

No banging of the headers and no short plugs, angled plug wire boots helped but they are REALLY close, I'm putting some good insulators on the boots when they go back on, can't remember what brand headers, I think bbk, individual flanges. It was a long time ago.

are you using unequal lengths or equal lengths ?

Shorty plugs and 90 degree boots should get you there.

PS....those headers look like they are really close to the strut tower. In my personal experience, I've learned that the heat burns the paint and causes rust issues in the strut tower ( among other things ).

I took my equal length BBK headers off and actually felt a little more out of unequal length Flowtech headers. Smh

Unequal? I think long tube headers are pretty close to the same length, I like em for the better low end torque.
Your likely to have trouble with the #4 plug and the one next to the dipstick tube either it's #6 or 7, thats with regular long tubes, I had regular plugs and angle boots with insulators.
