Help me understand why one needs to upgrade to a 70-75mm TB?

5-15 with a combo N/A is fairly common.
Lots of Forced induction People have seen 15 with just a TB.

As for the bullitt intake that is a whole nother topic.
 
That's what I was looking for...so a 75mm TB might be worthwhile on a blown combo, where as the stock will not.

A stock tb will flow plenty for a non-pi or pi headed car. I was just wondering why some get the "big" tb's for n/a cars when the stock flows enough and the "big" tb flows over double.

Does anyone have a dyno result of a tb swap on a stock or practically stock car on back to back dyno runs. Same day and relative time?

Oh and on the cfm "stuff"...I was wanting to compare 486 cfm ( 281 cubic inches at 6,000 rpm at 100% VE)...and what would an S-trim for example putting out X amount of boost do to one at 100% VE. I figured there might be a formula of sorts somewhere.

If the S-trim can flow 1000 cfm, I'm sure a 75mm TB would be almost enough to warrant buying one.

I see the throttle acting different, but as far as power, I just don't see power being gained. The throttle might feel different, but don't mean you gained hp/tq. N/A is what I'm referring to.
 
m0dular depot has a link right off the main page comparing a bunch of aftermarket plenum/tb combo's with an N/A car with dyno results. The Accufabv combo netted the most gains out of the ones they tested.. hence why most people go with them around here.
 
Well I wasn't meaning just Accufab. Just that the aftermarket tb's for an n/a car flow much more than the engine can even use. Thus, the reason for the question...

Oh, and guys/gals...I'm not getting a throttle body. I was just asking a question:) I wasn't even thinking about it...

It is better to have a little more than you need. Too much more though and you start lose velocity of the air charge, so you can't just slap on a 90mm throttle body.
 
jstreet - Velocity is effected at partial throttle, but not at full throttle. The 75mm TB flows a lot more than just "a little more than you need"...;)
