Help Me !!!

I admit i havent been on here in a long time.. i cant ever resist being away from a mustang for very long. When i saw this 4 banger on craigs for 500 buck i knew i couldnt pass it up. Yes i want to do a 5.0 or a 5.7 swap in the future but for now i want to enjoy the good gas milage. And heck id much more rather be seen in a fox 4 cyl than a Honda!!

Its got this wierd vibration/loss of power/sounds like a lawn mower from 2200 to 3200 rpm. It isnt consistent or all the time just most of the time. Only under power in gear not when in neutral. Not really sure where to start? any suggestions? not sure if its common or sounds familar.

This won't explain any loss of power, but what kind of condition is the exhaust in? Muffler in good shape? You might have a catalytic converter issue, now that would possibly explain a loss of power.........

Congrats on gettin a fox body back in the driveway! My '93 has a long way to go to be "nice" but having it and being able to work on one helps me sleep at night! I'm in the same boat as you, one day a 5.0 swap when money/time permit, but for now I enjoy driving it and I even have good A/C!

Some important things for us to know are the year and transmission the car's got in it.

Any idea how recent of a tuneup the car has had (plugs, wires)? Might be due up for one and you might be getting some kind of a weird misfire.
