I was driving down the highway and I went to press the gas and there was nothing there and it just died.
I pulled over, it turns over but it won't start.
I can hear the fuel pump constantly running with the key in the on position. It usually only runs just a little when I first turn the key to the on position.
Does this mean my pump is shot?
I just had a new Holley in tank pump put in last year. 192 or 195 lph, can't remember exactly.
I even pressed the gas to the floor, and pumped it also, there's no smell of gas in the engine bay. I believe it's not getting any fuel.
Help!!!!!
It's getting towed right now.
Thanks

). The way the fuel pump relay works is that the computer sends the ground signal to the relay's coil. This excites the relay. Normally when you turn the key on, the puter sends the ground pulse for 2-5 seconds and then it removes the ground. This is why the pump primes and stops. If that ground wire from the computer gets grounded/shorted, the pump will run anytime the key is on. You are able to do this yourself with an extension of this same ground wire, which is located in the self test connector. I'd check that wire's continuity to ground to see if it seems to be grounded.
