Hey there,
I'm rebuilding my upper control arms tonight and my Ford service manual doesn't list the torque spec for the upper control arm bushings. I've got them screwed in by hand and the shaft centered. I even have a spacer to place between the sides of the control arm (per the service manual) so I don't collapse it. Can you help? How do you do it?

Thanks.

I checked MS's website and he recommends installing them, not tight, then tack welding them to make sure they don't move. He was concerned about reducing the width of the control arm if tightened. My old service manual says to place a steel pipe (7 7/16") between the sides next to the shaft and "torque to spec" but lists no torque spec anywhere in the book.
Still looking for the torque spec.

i'm pretty sure the haynes manual for classics has it....it's something like 38-40 lb-ft....i think the most important thing to do is make sure the pivot shaft is centered on the control arm and it rotates enough...
