Help oil in my intake!

Hey guys i have an 89 lx 5.0 306 10:1 compresion turbo swirls and alot more. Well yesterday i went to clean my bbk intake {fender} so i put my hand it there and it was dripping oil fro mthe filter. Proceded to take the rest apart and there was oil all over. any ideas?

Check your baffles. Do a compression test. If all is good, install an air/oil separator.

I had that issue as well. Had a PCV issue. Wound up capping the PCV and going duel breathers on the valve covers.

I dont ever have a single breather on my valve covers. do you think i should get them?

My personal answer is, "No". God created the PCV system for a reason. On a street driven car, if you can keep it intact then you should. You can't run both a breather system and vent the crank case at the same and expect either system to function well.

Sometimes modification have to be made to the PCV system in order to meet the demands of a modified engine.

I agree with Noobz that a mild n/a combo should retain a PCV system. There is typically nothing to be gained by eliminating it. Now, a jump to any kind of forced induction will typically require PCV modifications or complete removal.

BTW, I was running a Vortech S-Trim with 12psi at the time. Yes, Forced induction is a different story.
