help please, code 18c KOEO

In the past 2 weeks I have been having some weird ignition problems ranging from occasional no starts to a perceivable miss and excessive lean pop. So far everything is new in the ign. Crane HI-6 ign., MSD billet dist. and TFI module, new autolite 24's gapped at .032, the plud wires are like months old and are ford racing 8mm wires. I pulled the codes today. The only code that came up was 18c with the KOEO. when I looked up the code in my scanner manual it say's ( loss of tach input / IDM circuit failure / SPOUT circuit grounded ) My factory tach is working. So has any body else had this. Im going to see if I can buy a new spout for the ign., but I have never heard of these failing. If that doesnt work what else is there.

Code 18 - SPOUT out or wiring fault - look for short to ground in SPOUT wiring going back to the computer. Possible bad TFI.

TFI - Do you mean the igniton module, because Ive had both the stock and MSD one on the dist. and it is the same.

Consider the wiring aspect that Jrichker mentioned. You can check the SPOUT wiring (one wire sees something like 2/3 battery voltage or something like that - I'd have to look it up or JR will know off the top of his head).
