Hello all my fellow mustang owners..Im new to the site from Williamsburg VA.. Ive been into foxbdy mustangs for a while and just bought a 01 Procharged GT in November.. I was gonna leave it alone but that's only lasted till now...
Its in need of some more performance parts but I dont know what to buy next...I have about $ 650 to spend......I bought the car as-is with these parts installed:
Here is what I have now:

2001 GT with 44k miles,
Procharger ps1c Kit....8lbs (intercooled ofcourse)
Lightning 80mm MAF
Diablo Revolution Chip
42lbsIinjectors,
Off Road Xpipe
3.73 gears,
STOCK TB & PLENUM <-------I wish I knew why they didnt change this!
STOCK HEADERS <------------same as above...WHY?
Also just the air filter piping that came with the Procharger...sucks in nice HOT air...lol
Stock suspension other than the Eibach Springs...
Car was dynoed and custom tuned before i bought it...I have the dyno sheet.....ONLY 316 HP and 341 ft/lb ...Shouldnt I have more?

OK here are the main questions.....
Im not rich and cant buy all of the items I need at one time...WHAT DO I BUY NEXT????? I have around $650
A throttle body and plenum? If so do it make a huge difference on brands? I see tha Accufab are alot more expensive...any better?
Maybe Headers?
Maybe something like a power pipe to get colder air?
\
Any information that you could give me would be greatly appreciated....:flag:

I have enough HP?

Doesnt my HP numbers seem alittle low fow a blown car? I wanna make over 400...now only 316 thats why I was thinking it was the Stock TB and plenum and Stock headers....Thanks again...That was another question i had was suspension...

Yes, 316 is a little short. You can always slap on a bigger pulley for more boost. These blocks can handle 400-450WHP.

Use the search button for racing suspension. You will get plenty ideas for a racing setup.

I would put an anderson ford power pipe on. I ained 30 rwhp on a dyno! The reason the intake plenum and throttle body weren't changed is due to the little gain in hp vs. cost. I would do the power pipe, dyno tune and suspension mods.

My husband has a 1998 with an 02 motor and tranny. He has a p1sc intercooled system. He makes 12-13lbs of boost. 425 HP and 430 TQ. On the dyno you can tell it is at it's max. I would not suggest upping the boost level until you are set to buy a forged short block. The throttle body and plenum are hurting you now because that is the bottle neck of your intake. If you widen that with a tb and plenum combo that will help the car breath better. You can get those in a combo fairly cheap from www.brenspeed.com The brand is up to you, but they all perform about the same. An intercooler for that P1sc will help get those air temps down, and will gain you some extra horses. A new tune may do you some good too. I know a lot of people who have changed nothing but their tunes/tuners and picked up 20+ HP. Headers will give you some HP, but only if you go with longtubes, and those are a bitch to install and to work around, you'll also have to change your mid pipe so it will fit. I would change the TB and Plenum and spend the rest on subframe connecters to keep the body straight.

thanks again..

Thanks for your input..Im definalty not upping the boost yet..The care does have an intercooler...the one that came with the S/c...Through m research I have read that shorties are a waste of money...Im glad that you told me that..the longtubes are a pain in the ass..and like you said I'd have to buy a new midpipe..So you think i will notice a big difference with the Tb/plenum combo alone? thanks alot! Also are you running a power pipe? im just using the one that came with the procharger kit..would this benefit me as well?

I just installed an anderson motorsport power pipe yesterday. It made my blower sound a lot louder, but I still am waiting for my smaller pulley and tune, so I have not played with the car at high RPMs yet. It is KILLING me!!!! I hope to get an extra 3lbs of boost from that. You would benifit from a power pipe, but they are expensive! I would definately do the TB and Plenum first. What are your goals with the car? Always spend your money to accomplish those goals, or else you will end up spending twice as much! I'm just here to help and to help you learn from my mistakes!

Well my goal is to make atleast 400hp....now im at 316 and 341 ft/lbs...I have around $650 to spend...thanks for all your help..so what do you think about the T/b & plenum and Powerpipe together?

ok, if it was my car I would get a new tune with sct x cal 2, and from www.brenspeed.com that's gonna cost $475 for the programmer and the tune. He will update the tunes for free, as long as you buy the parts from him. That would get your numbers up to where they should be. He is the #1 tuner for SCT in the nation, and will do an awesome job. Next you shold take care of the TB and Plenum. Buy now you're broke, but add the power pipe and you should be really close to the 400 HP mark.

I have reciepts from the guy I bought it from where he had all the goddies installed and a custom tune...Could it be that its just a really conservative tune? I agree 316hp/341ft/lbs is low for 8lbs intercooled car...Thanks again

it does seem alittle too rich...You can smell the fuel at an idle when standing behind it...Im gonna get a new tune and a few goddies this week....thanks alot for everyones input...Anymore suggestions would be greatly appreciated
