Okay so I have a vista blue 2007 GT. I was thinking about getting the black chrome fr500's but a few weeks ago I saw another GT with rim that where chrome but the lip was a blue that matched perfectly to mine. (His was white with blue stripes) I thought it looked amazing. Now Im thinking of getting the black with chrome lip frr500's but powder coating the lipe... So I have two questions, do you think it was powder coated or painted? And where and how much do you thinik it would cost?

Actually one more question... Now which should I go with?

Thanks everyone

More than likely it was powder coated. I say go for it and get some pics of it ASAP.

Haha I will when I get back. Im leaving for Chicago for a couple weeks because I do some modeling and depending on how money goes while im out there I will. I just need to find a place that does good powder coating and see how much on top of rims and tires

Actually powdercoating isn't as much as you might think it would be. I had my stocker 18 polished rims powdercoated into all black for $75 a rim. I wouldn't think a stripe would cost more then that....pending on prices in your local area....

The lips could also have been anodized. I would imagine it would cost a bit more than powercoating though.

If it was spot on color matched it was paint. If it was simply close to the color then it was powder.

Anodized would be distinctly different and the op would likely have mentioned that the finish was different from the norm..

simarindustries.com in Ocala Florida powdercoats just about anything.. give them a call for a quote and ask for Chris Jordan.

Powdercoating rims: Based on the assumption that the rims are bare metal with no existing coating, and that the powder is a standard color and texture, our price to powder coat 4 alloy rims is $35.00 each for a total of $140.00. The price does not include freight from and to your facility and the turnaround time will be two weeks.
