I had the Pro 5.0 installed last night. Once in a while when I shift from 1st to 2nd, it grinds. It doesn't seem to grind if I jam from first to second. Is this normal, if not...could someone please lead me in the right direction to fix it?

Thanks!

Give yourself a little time to adapt to the shifter before pressing the panic button. If you're coming from a stock shifter then the throw is probably a hair shorter and your shifter/foot coordination may be off just a tad. If not, start looking at adjusting your clutch. If that doens't cure it then you may be looking at replacing tranny synchros in the not too distant future.

I installed mine and it works perfectly with 86K miles on my T-5, you shouldnt be having any problems. Either your synchros are worn or some how your installation is wrong.

Your clutch foot isn't as fast as your shifter hand with the new shifter. You will get used to it.

Funny you mention that. I shortened the handle on mine and it grinded into 2nd the first day out because my timing was off everytime until I got used to it.

Not to sure because i know the t-5's throughout the years do different things, i called a local tranny shop to see what is the better fluid to put in, but im sure there someone around here that knows with the 90's t5. I only put in a small amount of lucas in the tranny with the tranny fluid

I'd put GM Synchromesh tranny fluid in there if it was me, and whenever I get around to fresh fluid, I am going to put that in there. If theres one thing GM did get right, that was their tranny fluid.
