Well My car isnt running to well so i decide to adjust the timing. I start the car let it warm up then i shut it off and take the spout connecter out. Then I put on the timing light start it up. The pully mark is reading b\w 20 and 30 on the scale. I try to lower it but my engine wants to stall. So then I adjusted by the way it ran listening for spark knock etc. What am i doing wrong? Any help would be appricated.

I say you unplugged something other than the spout...

Did the timing advance when you revved the engine? What did it go to when you plugged the spout back in?

It should not want to die when you are near stock timing...only if you go to 0 or something.

Also, you can unplug the spout with the car running...it won't hurt anything.
