Help Understanding the Mustang

Hello People,
Trying to do a bit of research for a mate who is looking at getting a mustang. He wants to know what is meant by Spec/Group A, B C Mustangs. And what year and model are most sought after? Any help will be appreciated.

sounds like SCCA racing class specs. this would generally apply to 65-70 models i believe but i'm sure they had these classes for pretty much all mustang SCCA classes until recently, if not still.

not sure which is most sought after, but i'd guess 65-66 shelby, 67-68 T/A coupes and 69/70 boss 302's.
