Just got back from track . 02 GT KB . ET Streets..
500rwh/500TQ KB (Heads stage2 VT, COMP 70 cams) 2 runs..
60' 1.8 / 1.735
330 5.181 /5.097
1/8 ET 7.872/ 7.835
MPH 94.82 /93.35
1000 10.162 / 10.162
1/4 ET 12.052/ 12.082
MPH 116.71 /114.62

Same car Vortec SQ same boost 390 rwh (no heads/camps stock intake)
60' 1.776
330 5.214
1/8 ET 7.982
MPH 89.48
1000 10.347
1/4 ET 12.316
MPH 114.38

Not sure I understand why I am not in the low 11's . The MPH at 1/8 and 1/4 MPH should have gotten me there. I don't think I'm slipping too much out of the hole. Front wheels are almost off the ground. (18" 265/40 on fronts).
ET Streets (26x11.50x15) with 14 psi..

Interesting note, I was able to get similar times with BFG 295/35/18 drag radials.

I come off the line at idle. Any more RPM and 60' gets worse.

How is it possible to have high MPH with high ET's.

Possible solutions:
Bigger slicks
Better shocks
Speed shift
Loose weight

116mph trap speeds do NOT equate to ANY 11 sec slips. Low 11's would be in the low 120mph range. Your traps do equate to your ET. Your 60' times look pretty respectable, but your trap is WAY too low for 500/500. I think you really need to work on your driving skills.

What are your gear and where are you shifting? Do you have a graph of your dyno? You probably should be shifting close to 6.5k or more with those cams.

Power has nothing over having the correct setup and driving experience. I would take a good look at your setup first. With 500rwhp, you could run 10s with the correct setup.

Put up a list of your mods and dyno so we can see everything.

if you are not power shifting you will need to, gas pedal should stay to the floor, and I agree, at this power level clutches burn up quick and a built auto and stall would help
I was launching my 03 cobra at 4,000 rpms on the irs with bfgs and simular hp/tq. numbers, 18lbs boost.

I think you need to update your suspention to be able to plant with a higher rpm launch or anazlye you shift point and gearing or tire size. sometimes little things can make a couple tenths.

you have enough power to run 11's easy you just need to optimize you setup and/or driving. you are really not able to take advantage of you slicks with your setup so that will get you into the 11's for sure.

60' is repectable, but with that power and on slicks... you should be able to easily cut a 1.6 60'.

Suspension and proper gearing will get you there

(I assume you are lighting up the slicks really well before launching?)

You need suspension period. My car 60 foot times better than yours and i was at 256 rwhp, 4.10 gear and on et streets in my 03 gt. What gear do you have.

You need upper and lower control arms. These are a must for you.
Battery relocation
fiberglass hood
drag struts and drag springs or k-member kit depending on how extreme you wanna go.

suspension is not the problem. With 500rwhp, that could should be trapping close to 125.

something else is extremely wrong. Fix that problem first then worry about hooking up.

Yep not the greatest driver.
All that torque (450 @ 3500) is a problem for me to get the wheels to stick. Never have this problem with the Vortec. Could leave at 5000 no problem.

If I launch any higher I get wheel spin.

I once had a MAC CAI... The restiction at 14psi cost me 60 rwh.. Too much restriction/vacuum...

sounds like you need some more seat time. you are running too much air in those slicks too. Im NA and run 14psi in mine and launch around 4500-5000 and pull 1.68-1.71s on a bone stock suspension at 3610 race weight. there should be quite a bit left in the car. you only have .8 on me and i have 50% of the power

Forgot to mention weight.
Convertable base weight 3500
6 Point Roll bar 100
Misc 100 (wheels, blower, Gords heat exchange, subframe connectors)
Driver 200

I would guess car weights about 3800 lbs with driver.

Horsepower calculator estmates 500 rwh at 119 MPH @ 3800.
Not too far off..

I am hoping better shocks to keep transfer, lighten up the car , heat up tires, power shift, drop ET pressure to 10lbs should get me 11.6 or so.

I want to keep the ET just above full cage requirements. Convertible with cage does not look all that great. I understand this is somewhere around 10.59.

as long as you have done the regular weight reduction stuff...trunk, dogbone, tranny crossmember, no cats you should only be about 3750 or less. my setup is 3610 or so and i weigh 220. a vert weighs about 3375 with the regular bs weight reduction. add your blower/cage/driver to that number.

Yea something seems wrong if your only trapping 2MPH above the vortec with 110 less RWHP.Really all that LOW end torque doesnt do much at the track, because your only below 5K or so when taking off, and even then only for a SHORT time. The rest of the time your at like 5k-6-6.5K. You also shouldnt be spinnig 11.5 inch slicks like that, 10.5s put racers well into the 9 second zone launching at 6k+...your suspension is set up wrong, take it to a hotrod shop that does custom suspension setups. Heck a guy in our town with a 67 or so nova with a 502 BB 14.5-1 copression, and a 400 shot of nitrous ran on 10.5s or possably 11.5s...launched at 6000-6500 RPMs, spaying out of the hole...8.76 @ 154...had an inspection sticker but wasnt really legal. (no winshield wipers, had dumps under the car, stuff like that)

Launching the car at idle on et streets. You might be bogging. Hell i couldn't even launch my car on nittos less than 3000 without bogging. 14psi is way to much. Air them down to 10psi and believe me it makes a good bit of difference. You'll just have to get used to the swaying. But powershifting is not your problem. Your trapping way to low of a mph. What rpm are you shifting at? How about letting a friend that is used to drag racing a car, drive it and see if he can do anything different with it.
