Hey guys.
i recently switched my stang from efi to carb and tonight im hoping to start it up for the first time in a while. I was just wondering what fuel pressure i should run at. I have the stock intank pump with a mallory fuel pressure regulator with a return.. my mods are , edelbrock torker 2 intake, holley 600 carb, k&n, and motorsport F cam. Also what do you think i should set the timing at so i can get the most out of what i have..
by the way i will be posting pics after its all done, once the motor is done its going to be sanded down for paint.

any help would be appreciated
thanks

If the cam is the only mod, try 16 degrees initial timing. Also, beware that the stock fuel system in your car is made for a steady 30-60psi. That kind of pressure will blow every seal in your carb. You will need to pull the pressure down to about 6-6.5 psi. In order to do that, you'll probably need a different fuel pump as fuel pressure regulators work only within a certain range. For example, an EFI pressure regulator is typically only effective from 30-60 psi. A carburetor fuel pressure regulator is typically only effective from 2-12 psi.

Therefore, you probably need to get a carburetor fuel pump and a carburetor fuel pressure regulator or you're not going to be able to keep your pressure down without blowing parts.
