I just ordered my engine, and am fresh out of funds but i was curious if i could run the stock upper parts on my engine til i get done with the break-in, or get the money..... The engine by the way is a 302, e-cam, and AFR165 heads. I just want to be able to drive it till i get the funds together for my top end. (intake, maf, tb,) One more question, can i run stock injectors with a bigger maf, or ar the 19s too small. Thanks for all your help guys, i need it.

are you going with forced induction? if not, then you should upgrade your injectors to at least 24 when you change out the MAF. its just a waste of money if you dont.

When i put in my FRPP 340hp 302 (W/E-cam) i was told by many people even my mechanic that the stock components ontop of the block would work. My engine hated every second it was alive, detonation, back firing, stalling out, bottom line dont do it. i ended up getting a loan from a sibling to finance purchasing the rest of the parts. now that it is complete, i am moderatly satisfied.
just my two cents bud,
fawcett
