Help with brakes

I have a 3.8l 2000 mustang. Recently, and abruptly I lost a lot of pressure on my breaks which I believe is caused by low brake fluid. I bought this car used and unfortunately it did not come with the manual. So I am in a dilema, I do not know where the brake fluid resevoir is. If anyone could point this out or even point me in the direction of a site where I can download or just view a manual for my car it would be greatly appreciated.

In the engine compartment on the left hand side of the firewall.

However, if the brake Master Cylinder reservoir is excessively low on fluid, likely there is a leak. Also, if the MC reservoir gets excessively low it will suck in air. Once this happens, bleeding the MC is the only way to get rid of the air. Simply restoring fluid level will not restore brake function. The brakes will never be right as long as even the tiniest air bubble is in the system.

I don't normally take this route when giving advice, but if you need an owner's manual to find the master cylinder, consider taking it to a professional. Your life may be at stake here. Also very possible there are major issues with your brakes. Likely there is a ruptured brake line.

Dont risk it!

Don't take chances on brakes. Get them looked at because if the fluid was low your brake (red) warning light should have come on before any problem with pressure loss. A rapid pressure loss usually means only a few things , ruptured brake line or leaking master cylinder are two of them. Either way you need it looked at immediately! Normally brake fluid should only go down VERY slowly as the pads & shoes wear, since brake oil is in a closed system & is sealed no loss should occur, unless you have a problem.
