I took my lower intake out to replace the intake gaskets and noticed that one of the injectors is a different color than the rest of the injectors. 7 of them have an orange top and black base, but one has an orange top and a grey base. Is this just a difference for an aftermaket injector or could this be an incorrect injector? Hopefully the attached picture helps. Any thoughts?

when they have that Orange top, they are all 19# injectors - the color coding applies to the plastic part only........

those injectors with the large bodies are often the original "pintel" type of injector - if you can find the later "4-hole disc" style, they atomize fuel better - see pic

those are the 19s, one must have went bad and been replaced, I actually looked at a mustang my friend was gonna buy and it had 7 19lbs (yellow/orange/tan) and 1 24lbs (blue) injector, car ran good though.

+1 about the gen 3 (skinny) injectors, I went from the gen1 24lbs to the gen3 24lbs and my car ran way better on the low end, top en was same but low end was noticably better.

Thanks Guys. As for the 'skinny' injectors, any suggestions on where to pick some up? I assume the base where it goes into the fuel rail and lower intake is the same size and no other modifications required? Just want to make sure that if I do end up getting some, I get the correct ones and do not end up with ........
