HELP WITH GAUGE CLUSTER PROBLEM

I JUST PURCHASED A 92GT THAT WAS CONVERTED FROM A AUTO TO A 5-SPD.
THE TACH AND THE SPEEDO SEEM TO BE GOING TWICE AS FAST AS THEY SHOULD.
THE GUY I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM SAID HE GOT THE WRONG SPEEDO CABLE(OFF A 4CL???)
I KNOW YOU CAN CHANGE THE GEARS FOR THE SPEEDO BUT THE TACH IS ELECTRIC?

IS THERE A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AUTO AND MANUAL GUAGE CLUSTERS?

ANY HELP WOULD BE AWSOME,,,BEFORE I START SPENDING MONEY ON PARTS I DONT NEED!!!
 
TAch going fast sounds like a 4cyl tach
Cable sounds like BS but I maybe wrong all the cable does is spin (you may have a set of gears in the rear and this is whats throwing it off )
Make sure car wasn't a 4cyl car before (post vin and someone can tell ya if it was)
tach could be that someone changed out the clusters ?
may or may not help just some things to think about
 
THE GAUGE CLUSTER IS 140MPH SPEEDO.....DID THEY MAKE THEM FOR 4BANGERS?

I THOUGHT GEARS TOO BUT AT 70MPH IT SHOWS LIKE 120MPH?
