I am in need of replacing my air intake tube on my 1987 Mustang 5.0 LX as there is a tear in this intake tube both at the air filter side and at the throttle body side. Do you guys have a source to purchase a replacement air intake tube? I'm having trouble finding one. If a replacement tube is not available, could you suggest a alternative cold air intake that would be a good upgrade from factory and a bolt in replacement from factory. This is a speed density car for this model year. Thanks.

They get pretty expensive used. Lots of guys wanting to remove MAF's when converting to standalone ECUs. Once in a while you see one for a good deal.

Thanks Mike, seems like I still can't find a new or used factory intake tube for my speed density 5.0 so your LMR link you posted for an after market cold air intake kit seems like the way to go. I understand the 1987 5.0 speed density foxes have limited ability to adjust for changes. Would you know (or anyone else know) if I purchase this cold air intake that the factory computer in the speed density cars would still manage this air flow change from the factory air flow and that I would actually gain a small increase in engine performance compared to the factory air intake box? Don't want to change something to experience a slight decrease in engine performance. Thanks.

years ago when i crushed my plastic intake tube from a C&L cai kit for a 2013 mustang gt, i went to a plastic's fabrication company who was able to repair and reshape it back to stock configurations. maybe there is one in your area that you can ask?

A CAI will not affect your SD OEM tune. The BAP reads manifold pressure [from] the manifold. It could care less what's leading up to it.

As far as a HP gain? Probably not. The OEM inlet is not the bottle neck. The intake and heads are.
