Hello fellow members,
I need help choosing an intake manifold for my 86 vert. I have a stock bore 302 with new moly rings, FMS GT40 X303 heads, TFS Stage 1 cam, FMS roller lifters, 1-5/8" headers. Price is no object of course we need to be conservative. The plans for the car are street/strip, wont twist it more than 6,000 rpm's. Trans is T5 w/ king cobra clutch, 8.8" out back with 4.10's, thus I need to know what intake you guys reccomend.

-Matt

Seems to me like a good ole Cobra Intake/gt-40 intake would be a good match for your combo. Its matched for your RPM needs and can be had at pretty reasonable prices as compared to other aftermarket companies.

lol... sorry there man... I wasnt even paying attention.

But seriously... You should look around at the local JY and see if you can find a 5.0 explorer intake... 99.9% the exact same thing as the cobra/gt-40 and depending on what JY ur at... can be had for almost nothing (compared to buying the actual cobra or gt-40)

I think a Cobra/GT 40 or an Edelbrock Performer would work out great for you. I would get the Cobra/GT 40 lower ported before you put it on there though. TMOSS is the man.
