Help with my V6!!!!

I have a 95 v6 as my back up car. Well anyway around 35 to 40 mph or when i hit a bump or if it shifts at that point the whole car gets the "shakes" real bad I have no idea what the problem is. I took it to a Transmission place and they tried to sell me a new fuel pump lol :bang: I highly doubt that the fuel pump is the problem. any help appreciated.

Thanks

Sounds like something is out of balance to me. Maybe one of the weighs on a wheel poped off or the drive shaft weigh got knocked off. When the car shakes do you here a weird winding noise also ? It could also be a bad U-Joint, next time you put the car in gear rev/forward see if it makes a clanging sound around the gear box or rear end when the transmession engauages? When any of that stuff I mentioned happens it will usualy vibrate the car at a certain speed, so I would give those a look.

AODE's like to fail. Mine wines in 1st and OD, but I haven't had to the cash to swap it for another I have in the garage. Guess that wasn't much help, but at least I didn't tell you to get a new fuel pump :)

Check the ds balance weight at the tail end of the tranny and see if it is loose. This happened to me. You may need a new DS if this is the case. No better time to get an aluminum one!

If that is the case, get it replaced asap, as your pinion gear in the rear axle could be the next thing to be damaged.

I always figured a bad driveshaft would vibrate all the time like out-of-balance tires. As far as replacing it, you might wanna think about it cause you'd be spending $160 and maybe labor if you didn't do it yourself.

No whining noise but it does make a funny clunk when I put it in gear. Its an Auto btw

If its a big clunk when you put it in rev or drive, I would say its time for some new U-Jonits. Jack up the car ( chalk the wheels and Ebrake) and inspect the U-Joints and see if they are loose are even got chips broken off of them. You may can twist on the drive shaft to check for play, I don't think there should be any at all. If they are worn and needs replaced do it ASAP and yes these would cause your car to shake and vibrate like crazy. They start off small at a pacific Speed/Rpm but then they get worse and one day you want like it :(

This happened to my car I ended up spending 2500 before the dumb @$$ mech, decided to check the tranny, the 2-3 gear in my auto wasnt locking it was trying to lock into the 2 nd gear but since it was worn out it would never lock in, thus causing a vibration feeling like it was coming from the rear end. I had everything replaced in the rear end so it definately wasnt that. Also when i floored it, it would take a second and then hard shift into gear. same reason hope this helps.
