help with my vortech supercharger install

hello i recently purchased a vortech supercharger for my 2001 mustang gt. It is a V2 s model and i have a few questions and i figured you guys would have some answers for me. First off i plan on keeping the stock boost and it will not have a intercooler which should be 8 or 9 psi i do beleive.
My first question is will an sct tuner be sufficent for tuning this supercharger or will i need to take my car in to get a dyno or custom tune or get a custom tune sent to me from sct.
My second question is will i need a new mass air flow sensor for the stock amount of boost i plan on running.
I appreciate you guys' help and will be looking forward to your responses

You have to get a dyno tune. If you were using a sniper SF kit it would build you a base supercharger tune that would be safe to drive on but you would still need a dyno tune to maximise you hp and tq. with a 3.6 pulley the most boost you will see is 8psi unless you are running a boost pipe. Your stock maf should be fine but if you want to upgrade then I would buy a sniper 3000 or sct meeter so you wont ever have to buy another one. If you go with a lightning 90mm maf check ebay. I got mine for $65 shipped, brand new in the box. If I were home I'd sell you mine that only has 100miles on it.

When it comes to stuff like this, I would rather be safe then sorry. With that being said, even at stock boost levels, I would want to be safe and get a dyno and tune from a shop if you have one locally. That way you KNOW for sure that the engine is good, the a/f is good. As far as the MAF, I would do yourself a favor and get a 90mm ford meter and 42lbs injectors. It might be over kill, but its safe thats for sure. :nice:

stock MAF should be fine on 8 lbs , mine was on 8.6 lbs at 370 rwhp , went to lightning maf when I upped it to 10lbs and intercooler ......I am a Sniper dealer and I have a killer tune for the base vortech kits that I have on my own car .....I can get you a Sniper Special Forces kit for $369 shipped
