OK....so I finally got my car all put back together. Everything is nice and tight including all electrical connections. Car will crank and crank and crank until I turn blue in the face but will not fire.

I've screwed with the distributor and it was of absolutely no help either.

I didn't do anything performance to it...just new top end gaskets.

What the hell could be the problem?

You've probably already checked this, but is the PIP sensor the problem? You say you messed with the dizzy but wasn't sure if you've dug that deep...

It's an absolutely common problem on our cars....you can either rebuild your factory unit or buy an MSD or equivalent

Did you make sure that you didn't accidentally trip the fuel cutout in the trunk?

Did the distributor help?

I'm having the same problem with mine now. I know the timing is close cause I matched the mark on the balancer to tdc when I had the heads off.

I've got the original Ford distributor (matches the factory waterpump I took off), so I'm thinking the PIP may be the problem. Just odd that it worked fine before the tear-down.
