Help with order

Hey guys, i blew a plug on my 01 bullitt and am going to order tomorrow new patriot stage 2 heads. I just nee to know everything I should order.

my first question is that my block is a Romeo block correct?
I am ordering Patriot stage 2 heads the assembled one's and it says *(Sold less rockers and lifters). I am not sure what the rockers and lifters are. do I need these? what do they do?
I am also going to get their Patriot Performance Modular Ford Billet 233/237 .545"/.550" 113 lsa Cams. Do I need the Patriot Performance Modular Ford Adjustable Cam Gears or Ford OEM Bolt-On Cam Gear Kit that they also sell? and do I need anything else or should do nething else while im into the engine? thanks alot for replys.
 
if u blew a plug a wise thing u might want look into when purchasing heads is the spark plug thread count. On Some 4.6L heads they were cast with only 4 threads to hold the spark plugs in with. I have seen quite a few at the dealership i work at with that same issue... later heads and the FRPP castings which some companies like DSS Racing use to port and polish use the full 8-9 threads for the spark plugs.

As far as cam selection and ur cam gears question. 99-00 PI Cams had pressed on cam gears and 01-04 had bolt on. what that means is if u own a 99 or 00 you will need to buy cam gears and if u have an 01-04 you can reuse your stock gears. so no u don't have to buy gears but to properly degree your cams in i would recommend.

just remember if you car has high mileage on it, that it might be wise to replace timing components such as guides, cassettes, pensioners and chains. Don't forget your gaskets your will need... as far as the rockers and lifters go if you have more than 120k i would recommend replacing the lifters and for the rockers(followers) the one you have should be ok.. just make sure to inspect the rollers on them for damage as well as the play the roller might have in them.
 
hey, thanks alot for the info. I would like to get those heads you referred but I cannot afford the $2k for them, thats why I was going with patriots at $1250. Gunnar there said they can do an inserts to make it 8 threads for just $50 for all of them so maybe I will go with that, will the inserts hold up though?
that way seems good unless you know other heads that has the 8 threads already that is around that price?
 
in my opinion the inserts are just helicoils....if u plan on boosting the car or adding nitrious at some point in time i wouldn't recommend them... if you plan on just staying Naturally aspirated then the 4 threads should be ok...if you don't plan on that then i would give patriot a call and see what heads they use... they might be remaned heads with the 8 threads in them... but i would double check that... That is a weak spot in them... and u might want to see if maybe they can do some new 8 thread heads for you and what they would charge... just options you have... i'm a big go big or go home kinda guy... i like to build it right the first time... its all up to you though...
 
hey guys, so I bought the heads and their on their way. I found someone that will come install them for around $300 or so. I was wondering if I needed a tune after this? I have a steeda timing adjuster on the car but not sure how to use it. Could someone help
