Ranger '87-92 Rear Axle; L.

for the fox length rear axles for a 5 lug. but when you look it up at advance or rock auto there are 9 and 10 inch drums. which one is it? i think its 9? but whats preventing me from finding a 10 at a junkyard and buying that.

You need the 9" drums. If you want 10" drums, you'll have to find a V6 ranger with an 8.8 and take the 10" drum backing plates and shoes off.

The 4-banger rangers with the 7.5" come with the 9" drums.

I know the Aerostars I got my axles from both had 10" drums, so as far as the axles are concerned, there should not be a difference between 9" and 10" drums. Now if you want to use the 10" drum brakes, you will need to get all the parts like Mike said.
