Help with squeeky front brakes!!!!

Do you guys have this problem? It squeeks when driving normally but stops when I break. It's driving me crazy!!!! Sounds like I'm driving an old beat up car. Is there something I can use, some anti squeek stuff or something? Help a discouraged bro out.

dude, I have the same issue and it drives me crazy on the interstate next to a wall where it is amplified and I feel like people are like "listen to that POS"

anyway, subscribing...........

Ever stang owner seems to have this problem. 1st time I fixed it w/ new brake pads at Midas ,squeek came back a yr later and no one could fix it. Took it to ford and they said there is a "dust trap" on or near the axel that needed to be lubed(and they did it for free). once again problem solved. That was 2weeks ago and it is starting to come back, so back to the shop I go. This time I will have them check the wheel bearings. If that doesn't work hello new car

Try replacing the metallic pads with ceramic pads.

already have and the squeak is still there, it seems to be more pronounced when I hit a bump in the road so I may start looking at susp components as the culprit even though it sounds like a brake squeal

Thanks for all the advise. Break cleaner, dust trap, ceramic pads. Gonna try them all. If worse comes to worse do you think new rotors and calipers can be an answer? This is driving me insane but I don't want to get rid of the Mach. Already took it to the dealer and they replaced the pads. Squeek came back after 2 days. So I figured I would try to fix the problem myself.

I just bought some Disc break anti squeak stuff from auto zone for that. Let's hope it was a good $4 investment.

hey did u ever fix ur squeakin problem did that stuff for autozone work
i got a small squeakin sound too and it has brand new f'n cobra pads and brakes on my 2000gt.

lube it

many people have this problem. there is a special pad and caliper grease you can get from your local ford dealer. if you take apart your brakes, not only grease the two pin/bolts that hold the caliper against the rotor, but also grease the back of the pad it's self. many times the squeaking is caused by friction between the pad and the piston so lube that also. just dont get ANY grease on the rotor side of the pads. another cuase of the squeak is if you skimped out and didn't buy ford parts... sounds stupid but in many cases thats the trick.

They also make a silicon base that actually form like a rubber bearier (sp?) between the pad and the caliper, this is what we use here at Hunter when we are done doing brake testing, it works awsome. My car on the other hand has a squeek every time I get in it after sitting all night, I just always assume that it is rust forming on the brakes because it goes away after a couple of minutes, I just hope it is not the front wheel bearing. only 42K miles

Yeah I put on the anti squeek stuff on the back of the pads. Went away for like 5 mnutes then came back. Not as loud though. But now the other side is starting to squeek.

ttt mines been doing this, embarrassing to have an o2 mustang and have it sound like a 80 summin sundance. Any one have fixed it?

old thread but nonetheless, I just changed my rims to the saleens and I got the same break squeal, I'll try to lube the pins up.

mine was making a godawful squeek yesterday. i just about thought something was broke cuz i drove the hell out of it the night b4. but i clean off the rotors and a little lube in the calipers and it just completely went away. maybe it was just burnt rubber and dust i guess.

Mine dont squeak when driving, but after about 30 minutes of driving and the brakes are hot, then they squeak really bad up front. I have learned to live with it, although it is pretty annoying.
