So today i set out to change my end links since i broke one. So it seemed pretty simple until i got under the car. The end link was broken in half so i couldnt hold the two nuts on each end to loosen the link. So i got the bottom half off but the top half i think it's impossible to get off just because where it broke. Heres some pictures to clarify...

So you can see that it broke way high so theres like no way i can grip that little cm piece and loosen the bolt.

I dont know what else to do. I tried for like hour and 30 minutes and didnt get anywhere. I tried everything lol. I was trying to shave away the little cm post and pop the washer off with a screwdiver but that didn't work..

PLZ help lol(nothing seems to go right with cars)

Try to use something like a punch and a hammer and drive the end of it up through the washer. If that will not work then you need a grinder or cut off wheel and cut that thing loose at the bottom and take it out. That is going to be your only two options.

if ya can't get vise grips around that thing then i would say grind that bitch off. Ah yes you answered the question if i should spend the money on the whole set up or just the new bushings Thank You. I'm having enough problems then to have to deal with something stupid like that

or tear the elastomers out (cut, grind, torch) and use bolt cutters or a cut-off wheel in there. I like the other ideas better, but this did come to mind if grinding the head off does not work for some reason.

good luck.

1st thing I would do is remove the four bolts holding in the car and remove the whole sway bar so its easier to work on, but, I am old now and do not enjoy spending hours on my back with crap falling in my eyes and stuff..lol

lol the good ol torch came to my mind too. But you gotta be careful with them
Huh, what was that? Sorry, I was chipping a rock against a flint while trying to light a smoke - all while filling the propane tank. :D

Seriously, good call on being careful. :nice:

ha ha I ment gotta watch what you heat up. Don't want to heat up something that you don't wanna mess up and screw it up so you have to replace it too.

Yeah, I know bud. that was a good call about 'being careful' with what you are doing (be it melting things around oneself or hurting oneself).

I had been out in the sun all day and had come in and replied - must have been heat exhaustion talking.
