I got a new kindle hd, and it will not let me type the right words. They disappear after I type them, so I have yo type a few letters and take suggestions only. Then when I hit post, it does not post. So I am back on my phone asking for help. What can I do to get this right? Auto correct settings did not help.

Does the kindle allow use of different keyboards? My s3 had that same problem because of Samsung's crappy keyboard. After I rooted it, I installed a ROM with a regular jellybean keyboard, but, there are keyboards in the app store. Maybe the same for kindle?

If this works now, it had to do with flash. I had to go to the Silk settings and set the selected website view to mobile. It was on automatic, and was selecting the full version. Flash is no longer supported on mobile devices.
I cannot select another keyboard or browser with Kindle. It keeps bad apps off but prevents access to cool ones too.

We have an ipad in the family. Until drop box came along, I felt my android phone was easier to use and I still find it more helpful for real work. But I need it to work with a Windows network. Maybe you are all Mac, then I understand.
For that much extra money, the ipad should come with a free printing app that works, a useable office suite and 2x the memory. As far as Kindle oddities, I was told to buy a Different Android pad unless I wanted to read and read... Too bad Windows pads are so expensive. For now, it seems to be going fine. Thanks again for trying to help!

I'm definitely NOT a Mac family guy. Personally, I hate the apple iOS ... On a phone. .. I love android for phone use, but for tablet. IPad. I have a 64gig mini, wife has ipad4, and daughter has ipad2. We each have the harmony link app on our device with each of our favorite channels. Works great as a theater remote, and my daughter uses it for homework as well. Never tried a kindle tho...

Unlike our cars, they are all Star Trek level technology. In fact, the real pads look thinner
than the props. And I'd gladly accept a gift of a good, real pad in either system.
