ok dumb question but are these tires to tall for the from of my 89 gt. they are 235 55 on the stock pony's. heres my problem if i have someone turn the wheel and i watch the tires they clear ok. now when im moving and turn the driver side tire will rub the side skirt on the back of the front fender and its tearing my paint up.

Even my stock tires (Turbine's with Bridgestone tires) rub on the front fender skirt under certian conditions. Ford revised the skirt and inner fender well in 1991 to correct the issue.

Two Solutions:
a) Find some newer fender skirts to solve the isse
b) Switch to a lower profile tire, or burn off some rubber

Also, it's worth noting: The stock pony tire size is 225/55/R16 and not the 235/55's that you currently have on there.
