I am thinking about getting either a 2 piece tonneu cover, the ford mini tonneau or a boot for my 04 vert. Anyone have experience with any of these, help would be greatly appreciated. What does it cost to paint the 2 piece and install it? How about the install on ford's mini?

Thanks in advance for the help!!!!

I have the black vinyl tonneau from Ford (about $100 shipped) and like it. For pics, see . . .

It takes about 2 minutes to put in on, 40 seconds to remove it. Folds and stores in the trunk.

I think I have a problem here.

The cost for painting will depend on where you get the paint, what the painter charges, etc. I'd guess about $200 with paint, clear, labor.

The tough part about having a hard tonneau, at least a one-piece, is that you can't really store it anywhere should you have to stop and leave the car. I never take mine anywhere anyway, but in case YOU do, that's a big thing to thnk about. THe 2-piece can fit in the back seat, I believe, get some padded covers for them and stack 'em if the situation comes up. Vinyl ones are good for obvious reasons.

I was torn between getting the solid cover, or the new boot that covers up the back seats. I went with the boot just because it was cheaper, and easier to store...as opposed to storing the solid pieces, and worrying about the paint getting chipped...I have been happy with it thus far...sorry this is the best pic I have right now:

Thanks for the help. Couple of nice looking cars as well. On your advice I ordered the soft tonneau from Ford. But in the meantime I found the $350 Ford boot cover on ebay for $50 and bought it as well. Now I guess I've got a couple of options.
