I found the water temp sensor on the intake ( think thats right) and I go to unscrew and bam fluid leaks out. So how do I stop the fluid from coming out so I can change my sensor. Body 65 coupe: engine 71 351w

You are going to have to open your raiiator petcock and drain the coolant until the level is below you temp sensor. Remember before you install the sensor to put some teflon tape on the threads. Be careful to not overtighten it . If you have an aluminum manifold it can easily crack.

LOL...just sounds funny that to prevent the coolant from coming out you have to let it out...LOL.

They are right of course, just struck me as funny. You COULD always just move fast with putting the new one in and then top off the coolant when you are done.

u could always do what i did, run the engine for 5 minutes, get it good and hot, then take it out and let hot coolant spray all over you and the whole engine compartment and then act surprised as you unscrew the petcock on the radiator to let some coolant out like you should have in the first place

I changed mine without draining it first. Lost about 8 ounces of fluid and had to clean that up but it can be done.
