i know its not a mootang, but i have to rock this until i get out of college, anyways heres the scenerio:

this is only like my third day owning my 1991 trans am 5.7liter. when we first picked it up, we had to jump start it because it haden't been started awhile. but after the drive home it's seemed to be ok. its always taken two-four cranks to start it up, but it always did. well, here's the weird part, today at around 5pm, i was showing it to a friend, and it took like ten cranks, then, when it finally kicked over, it kind of stumbled and died, so i started it again, only i pumped the gas a little, and then it finally started. since then, i've fired it up like three other times, and though i didn't have to use the gas, it still took awhile for it to start.

my question is: could this just be a battery issue, or something else?
when im driving, the volts read around 13.
i know it may sound like somewhat of a newb question, but im just kinda worried. please help, i'd really appreciate it.

thanks, mike

good idea, no check engine light, but i do know that the cap/plugs/wires/rotor/injectors/coil is brand new. i work at grease monkey so preventative maintenence isn't an issue, just trying to work in a good word with our new owners. whe i cash my check, i'll probably do a fuel filter/oil change/rear diff/fuel system cleaning service.

probably replace the battery too. its kind of sad that i get more replies here than in the actual f-body forums lol.

Ive heard one sympton of long cranking is low fuel pressure. Get a gauge on there and see whats going on. Some engines just always to crank for a while till they start like all the 4.0L Jeep engines for some reason, I always wondered why but everyone ive seen took longer than normal for it to start. I can hear one start from a mile away lol
