I need help. I am running a carbed large single turbo setup on my mustang. My question is, I have heard that I can run my stock 90 efi distributor with no ecu, but the timing will be locked out. This is fine because I only want to break the new engine in before I by a new distributor. So my question:How in the hell do I hook up my distributor to my msd 6al so it will run?? Does the distributor have a magnetic pickup? DO any of the six wires coming out of the distributo cary the magnetic pickup signal? I have heard people say that you only need to wire up the ignition to power, ground, and switched, and to the coild, and run no wires from the msd to the distributor, this doesn't make any sense...Also I searched with no hopefull posts showing up...thank you in advance!

Theoretically speaking, yes it can be done...use the pic below (courtesy of veryuseful.com), the second TFI module should be the dist. mounted version you have. Connect pins 1-4 to their respective I/O points and it should fire...MSD connection is not required or necessary, and since you're going to be using it for the engine break-in...LUK if it works out. Wow, your the man. Now Let me make sure I am reading this right...
Pin 1 Chassiss Ground
Pin 2 Negative Side of coil
Pin 3 Power Constant
Pin 4 Power switched

Is this correct? If So I will try it this afternoon and let you know if it works.
