HELP!

Ok so here it is, got an 81 fox, bought it with original 3.3 in it, JUNK. anyway i picked up a 302 out of an old 78 f100, bored it .030 and threw some stock e7's on it and some off the shelf edelbrock intake on it, also not a huge fan. 600 edelbrock 600 carb, msd 6al ignition, blaster 3 coil and 8.5 superconductor wires. well had the freeze plugs pop out when i was deployed cause my buddy decided to leave straight water in it and leave it outside in the NC winter, just cold enough to pop them i guess. needless to say when he ran it up before i got home he overheated it in a BAD way, talking like 290! picked up a parker funnel web intake, installed it and got water leaking out of all four corners of the intake-head mating surface, hello warped heads! picked up a set of e7's that are ported with from proform roller rockers on them hoping everything will match up good, got a heads up from my buddy who actually knows something about racing and told me that ill have to "turn up" the motor, guessing hes talking about running at a higher rpm, says im going to have to due to the longer intake runners. any truth to that? what am i looking at for a base tune idle? really trying to get this thing back together, kills me to see it sitting idle. im sure someone has a little advice! Thanks!

Sorry...but what exactly is the question here? Aren't you just throwing the engine all back together and starting it up? Are you asking what the idle should be? Kinda confusing. That intake will want to run a higher RPM yes, but what size cam are you running in it? With good ported E7s you'll want to run a 460-520 lift cam and tune her up decently, you could get anywhere from 260 to 315 rwhp I would say, hard to give a good number not knowing compression, etc.
