Well I wasn't planning on doing this until the end of the year or even next year but the guy is sponsoring the "vinyl" job so here it is:

Before

During

I don't have the after views yet cause it isn't done yet but boy does it look incredible in person so far. They had one side finished, the top and hood done. Considering it is going to be pretty much a race car seeing some street duty it is the perfect option. The vinyl wrap is awesome. The only problem they are having is the crappy paint job the car had before. The guy I bought it off only shot one layer of clear on it so now the paint is peeling. It shows through under the wrap and you can see the seams of the vinyl from close up but boy does it pop and it won't cost $10,000. From 100 feet away from the stands to the starting line it is going to look amazing. I'll update when I get the final product. I can't wait to get the 408 in it and unleash it. Should be fun.

Are you changing rims too, or are you going to stay all "1991"?

Just kidding...looking good.

Those rims are the next to go. I want Weld Drag lights for the track but I think i want to do the 5 lug first so I have a choice for street rims.

All vinyl, just like Nascar. It's pretty new and the guy doing it wanted to show off the capabilities so he is sponsoring it. He loves Foxes and he knows I'm not going to be stressed because of the seams since it's going to be a drag car.

Here's what the finished product should look like but still with the body kit and no tubs or wheelie bar.

I don't know about a car, but the boats for the Tournament guys we shoot cost 3 to 4k for a 20 foot boat to have them wrapped. Many places that do commercial signs do it, and have for several years. Same stuff you see on a lot of buses, RVs, and semi-trucks.

It is vinyl from a Sign shop. That's whose installing it. Looks amazing. Gotta change my damn rims. Can't wait to go cruising in it and see all the stares. I'll upload a pic in a few minutes. Photobucket seems to be crapping itself right now.

I've got a good shot of it half finished but can't upload the damn thing onto photbucket. I've tried resizing to no avail. I've tried for the last few days. Any other picture hosting sites that are good? I can tell ya, the car is almost done and I saw it today and it looks amazing. I am so pumped. I can't wait to get it on the street. They had to redo the driver door panel today or she would have been done. It looks awesome in person, looks good on pics to.

So are you going to clear coat over top of the vinyls and make it permanent? If i found vinyls that were high quality enough i would consider it.

Only the passenger side is finished in this shot. The spoiler isn't done here yet either. Came out really nice. Now time for a 5 lug swap and some nice anthracite FR500 rims.

No I don't think so. The vinyl they used has clear coat on it already. We'll see how it holds up on it's own. The onwer of the shop is a friend and will fix and problems with it that come up. If I want to change it in a couple years we'll peel it off and do a different design. This picture doe not do it justice at all. When you see it close up it absolutely pops. That blue is amazing. They did a great job. Up close you can see the seams but from about 10 feet the car looks perfect. There are some places where it is really tough to get into so you can see a little silver showing but it actually just looks like a reflection. Silver was the perfect base color.

Yeah the seams is why i asked...sometimes you can bury stuff like that under clear coat and not see it. Plus you'd get rid of the edge of the vinyl.
