Well there ya go, my first official mod, its a real love-hate kinda thing 'cause now all I want is a good set of Heads....

My engine bay is sort of a mess, does anyone have any ideas to create more space or to make it look less cluttered?

Thanks to all those who helped out and to Hef5.0weisen who sold me the intake and whom I would recommend doing business with to anyone!

I haven't had much time to drive it and haven't gotten over 35mph yet as I had to deal with it overheating at first and then I had to go straight to work, I plan to take it out this afternoon, but there is definitely a difference, esp over about 3k. The strut tower brace was from Ford Racing I don't remember the stock numbers but I ordered it from Summit. Is anyone else having problems seeing the pics or just wystang? I see them just fine myself. I'll let ya know how it feels tonight.

It did take a long time ~13 hours for me. Really the problem was toward the end the EGR tube didn't want to connect to the elbow right so I just got really frustrated. If I did it again, I could do it in under 6 with no problem. It took about 3 hours to get everything off. The time consumers were replacing the distributor with the fuel line in the way (about 2.5 hours), and the EGR issues (3 hours?) so you can see where the extra time came from.

The intake swap itself was a lot easier than I thought. No leaks have reared their ugly heads as yet and the car feels much stronger! Thanks for all the positive comments.

Recheck the torque on the bolts from the lower to the heads after about 100 miles. They will come loose.

It took me 8 hours when I did mine, but fortunately I didn't run into any problems. Tearing it apart took no time (2.5 hours or so), but putting everything back together took a little longer, cus we broke some vacuum lines and had to make a couple runs to the parts store. No biggie though. Good job, glad you like it. I give you 6 months before you break down and buy heads, that's about how long it took me. lol

Hey, that looks awesome man! How did you get the intake off? I am trying to remove mine and it seems to be STUCK!! I removed 4 bolts at the top and the EGR and other stuff but it won't budge! Am I missing another major bolt? Thx.

Looks good. I've been considering the Trick Flow to replace my factory (choker) intake.

One suggestion. You could remove the plastic shroud above the radiator, but I'd suggest that you have a nice aluminum race radiator in it's place first. That opens up the front of the car a little bit more.

Battery relocation could also free up some space. I wish I could do away with the smog pump and associated hardware (AIRD, AIRB, etc.), but I need it to pass NJ emissions and stay on the road

If you do not need the smog gear to pass emissions, etc, you could clean that out and open up the passenger side of your car.

sorry this is off topic. but is there any good tech threads about rerouting all the wires and lines to the inside of the fender? i would like to keep like the a/c, p/s ect. but also want to remove the cluster *** of all the wires and lines.

by the way, for doing the install yourself. cause everthing i touch goes to hell.

6 bolts on the upper. 2 are under the plaque
