Well we took the whole front of. The bolt that holds the cam in, snaped. but heres why. the thing that centers the cam to the balancer, snap in to, cuzint it to swpin freely, the chain did not fall of though. could i still have damage to the heads?????????????

So are you saying the shear pin on the crank snapped? That tells me your cam siezed up first. The came could have siezed from maybe a couple likely sources. You had problems with a wierd knocking sound from the motor, which (at this point) I'm thinking it was a valve hitting a piston likely due to an overtightened rocker and/or too-long of a pushrod.

So my theory is that with a valve hitting a piston, that constant indirect hammering on the shear pin and/or cam bolt just killed it.

You better pull your heads. There coule likely be damage to the heads, block, pistons.

but why would they start to hit after the third day? i puit almost 300 miles on it, pulled four dyno runs with out a problem

maybe something came loose after driving it for 300 miles? at this point anything is possible without digging back in and finding out for sure.
just keep your cool and start over again. i'm telling you to keep your cool, cause i would hate to see you lace up you stang with that AK you posted up in that gun thread.

ha ha was waiting on that

Been here done this. You probably bent the valves open...at least you didnt blow the hood and manifold off like me! Pull the heads and have a machine shop put in new valve guides and valves...you'll be set. Manley makes inexpensive replacement valves.

i look tru the heads, and i can see the bar from the valves, they look straight, all are stiff. i really dont feel like taking the heads of right now. then i would have no money for the gaskets. im out of dough right now!!!!

all the pushrods are straight! but most of the lifters have markings on them. from them hitting the cam. the cam has marks from the lifters, one of the lifters is stuck!!!!!!!! i moved the cam a little and herd a piece of metal fall down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 dam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im ****ed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! seriously im gonna sign of for a couple of days and take of to mexico and calm down, i actually cried once already, all this crap is getting to my head!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh teah i didn't take the cam all the way out since i dont want the lifter thats stuck fall trough!! how im im gona take out that piece of metal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????????????

Lifters hitting the cam? They roll on it, you have a roller motor right?????
