Gee how help full where you?I wasnt trying to brag about it.I<ve been saving all year to get s/c.I too would love to see a lower intake out also.But at the time besides the highly over priced bullitt there just is,nt one out for street use yet.So i will make do with what there is now.

:shrug: From what I can tell the Trick Flow looks almost Identical to the Dragon. The Only difference I see is that the Trick Flow has some more metal on the bottom Right where the TB conects to it. This is from just looking at the Pictures side by side. Most companies will sell there product to another company to market and the only difference is the name on it. That is almost what it looks like here. I might be wrong and if I am someone let me know. This is just from comparing pictures of each. I am like the rest of you and would like to see some numbers before I invest my money.

The Dragon is the only one that has a divider down the center where the elbo makes the turn, and that is what makes it different. I talked with the guy that tested the Dragon, C & L and Accufab and he says the Dragon has excellent throttle response because of this. He also said it feels stronger in the mid range (look at the torque around 2500 on the Dragon dyno sheet). I will dyno my car once I get it installed and post the results.

Where and how did the upper intake dyno tests? Do you have a picture of the divider in the Dragon?

Will they do back to back dynos with your stocker, and then the dragon to avoid any misconceptions ?

Tim, in fact, does have one and I believe he was going to do a C&L vs. Dragon head to head on tigerdog's car(but he's been pretty busy). If everyone PM's cobra killer, maybe we can make this comparison happen.

We could do it on my car but I know that Tim is taking tigerdog's car to the dyno this week. By the way, tigerdogs setup similar to mine.

i tried to email dragon about their intake with the web address posted on their site. it came back as an incorrect email address. does anyone know their correct email. is this plenum only available through dragon, if not anyone know who has the best price? hopefully tim gets the dyno numbers on it soon so we can see what it does on a cobra killer setup.

i talked to stephan at dragon performance. he gave me this address to email him if anyone is interested, [email protected]. he said his intake will be available through t&j, anderson ford, shm, and a few others that i forget. the one for a 70mm sales for $210. the car they dynoed with a vortech a 8lbs boost showed a gain of 12rwhp with a stock tb. tourque was up something like 18 ft lbs.
this was on a 2001 gt that is supposed to be otherwise stock. on the n/a car they show something like a 6-8hp gain and 8-9 ft lbs of tourque. the dyno graphs are on their website at dragonperfomance.net.

Also the C&L website clearly says to use the BBK 75mm TB, who cares about what results it yeilds when it's not "used as directed." No one ever answered my question about why the "dragon" manifold comes in 3 sizes, why not buy the 75mm version and put whatever size TB on it you want.

Also C&L lists flow numbers in CFM on their website, any one have this data on the Dragon.

Not trying to say it isn't a good product, but those tests seem like BS to me.

Dragon Elbow Info

Hi everyone,

This is Stefan with Dragon performance. I was told about this thread and decided to check it out.

I'll try to answer alot of the questions I read on here.

The Trick flow part is not mine, I have been told by a third party that has tested both of them on a modified 2v engine that mine made slightly more Hp and 3 ft-lbs of torque more.

My part with a stock 65mm Throttle body flows 580 cfm at 28 in of H2O.

The reason there are three different part numbers is because I put a "lip" at the Throttle body entrance to make smooth airflow from the stock TB to the 75mm throat. I then have that machined out to match a 70mm TB, or remove it to match the 75mm Throat of the part.

The divider is to decrease turbulence during the 90 deg. turn down.

The dyno results on my website were done on stock cars using stock throttle bodies. The only modifications done to the cars was the naturally aspirated car already had an aftermarket exhaust, and the supercharged car had an 8psi Vortech installed. The testing was done at Total engine airflow.

The questions about the dyno results floating around that are done in text form, I was not involved with. A third party in California bought a part from me and performed the tests.

I'm not going to BS anybody, I see enough of that going around and its not worth it. Chassis dyno's are everywhere and if you lie, someone is going to catch you.

The rumor I heard at the PRI show is that acouple of people are working on 2v 4.6L manifolds, but the upper plenum, elbow, adapter, will be the same. So that means that my part, a C&L, Trickflow, accufab, or stock will still fit the aftermarket manifolds.

Thanks for the info but....

for that close of #'s the trick flow is much cheaper - :shrug: I just became concerned of some of the brands tested that showed such a dramatic decreas in RWHP so quick after the max RWHP. Does anyone know if Trick Flow drops power so fast after max RWHP too ?

EDIT - Any help on that Dragonperf, and / or what do you think about that issue shown in your dyno reults that I posted up earlier in this thread ?

I agree, seems like everybody wants to make a buck off this new "great mod" that was virtualy non existant until the last year. Somebody give the freakin 2v cars a real intake intake manifold that is affordable, not these cheap upgrades to the cacca stock plastic one.
