This is for all of you guys that get the sniffer test. Do Hi-flow cats pass sniffer test? Do they pass if you have an aftermarket x-pipe? Also what if you were to have Headers aftermarket x-pipe and flowmasters.
Because the car is supposed to have the factory parts on the car, which is gov't approved. The factory H-pipe has 4 cats, aftermarket ones have only two. Just get you an off-road pipe will MIL-elimnators, you will pass the inspection, and make sure your "buddy" doesn't look under the car for cats.
Actually, some states only scan the computer for stored codes on newer cars. If there aren't any codes, they pass. This is for cars that are only a few years old.
Missouri, Alabama, and Missippi doesn't scan for codes.... Missouri checks for cats, but they don't care of there are 4, 2, or 10 on there As long as you have them... but most places don't even do that... I am thinking about putty cats back on my car, bassani hiflows that is... just too damn loud with them off
No tests here in Florida either. It takes me all of 15 minutes to remove my o/r x and put the stock H pipe back on, so even if there were tests here, 15 minutes to swap it back to stock and then another 15 minutes to swap it back to O/R X is well worth the power and sound for the rest of the year.
what mufflers do you use with your o/r x-pipe? I use 2chmbr flowmasters and it is quite loud... too much of a glass pack sound with all that poping going on... so, I am looking to the borla stinger kit to smooth out that unwanted noise
I may be speaking to soon before my inspection lol but normally NC doesnt care as long as you have cats. it can be 2, 4, or 6, whatever, as long as they are there. I was even told by a Ford Tech that Ford dealers will pass them as long as there are cats there for the visual
