Had a quick question I'm hoping someone can help me out with. I recently replaced my headlight bulbs with a pair of 8k HID bulbs/ballast and they're working great, I also paid in advance for the fogs, but the friend I'm buying from isn't entirely sure which bulb to go with.

Apparently there are H3 H4 H5 etc. sized bulbs, and I am aware that our cars take 899's for the fogs stock, which is a bulb size that either my buddy doesn't have, or straight up doesn't exist from HID manufacturers yet. I was informed that we need to convert to another bulb in order for HID's to be installed.... does anyone know by chance which bulb size it is that we convert TO?

And yeah, I did a search to no avail... which is funny considering over the years I've seen threads pop up with this kind of info in them. Also, anyone have tips on the best place to mount the ballasts for the heads and fogs? As it is I have my driver side ballast mounted on the battery... :notnice:

Thanks in advance.

I don't think any of those bulbs will work. There are 899 series HID bulbs out there. Worst case scenario is you'll have to buy an HID kit, sell off whatever bulbs they come with and locate a pair of 899 HID bulbs on EBay or from a different manufacturer. Most aftermarket kits come with the same type of male/female plugs for the bulbs so it's just a matter of changing bulb types.

I have an 8000K headlight HID kit and was tossing an idea of a 3000K fog light kit for that yellow look. Haven't done it yet
