HIDs ON! Fog lights off??

Okay, here is my tech question. I got my HIDs in yesterday. Love em. My only question is how come when they are on, the car thinks my brights are on?! The brights light on my dash come son every so dimly and therefor my fogs won't go on.

Anyone with HIDs come across this issue? I don't think I wired them wrong seeing that it's pretty brainless, but hey, ya never know.

I know there is a fix out there on MW, but that looks like some serious electronics hacking. Plus the only thing that bothers me is seeing that damn dimly lit light on my dash.

Battery light has been on for almost 2 years now. It goes on and off as it pleases. SOmetimes it'll stay off for weeks, sometimes it'll stay on for weeks. I'm guessing my alternator is weak and the volts are dropping on it. Happened since I installed an 800w amp on it. What's the most effective way of monitoring volts? Pillar guage?

Pillar gauge, or you can buy one of those gauges that plugs right in to the cig. lighter that shows digital voltage.
