Well I just bought my Mustang on Tuesday I was pretty excited about it because it's the first car I've owned that I actually bought because I wanted it not because it's all I could afford. The high beams work if I flick on the flash to pass and the indicator light comes on the dashboard, but if I flick the switch back to leave the high beams on nothing-no high beams, no indicator light. My running lights work great. Don't know what's wrong with it and I absolutely need this working as I live up a windy mountain road with no street lights that is prone to flooding and mudslides I need to be able to see. I hope this is an easy and cheap thing to fix as I can't afford to fix anything on it right now. Please help me!!!

Do you have stock headlights or aftermarket? If aftermarket, are they HID's? Some lights (HID's) will not give you a high beam 1) because they are bright as all hell, and 2) I can't remember (LOL). Provide more info for a more educated response.

The switch in the column is probably bad. You can either open up the steering column and replace it, or you can rewire the high-beams with a seperate switch.

I have HIDs for my low beams, and I had to so some rewiring at the plugs to get it to work with the high beams which are still halogen (I have aftermarket projector headlights). I have it wired so the lows stay on when the brights are on, since I like the extra light and it's not good for HIDs to switch them off and on quickly.

Sky,I gotta ask, which HID kit did you buy? The APC one found on 50resto? And how is the lighting compared to stock halogen bulbs?

I've seen plenty of HID's in my time at work but I've never actually seen one on a SN stang.

I just bought the $60 kit on Ebay. It seems like it's high quality, and hasn't failed yet (knock on wood). I really like the light output- I can see a lot better than with the halogens. I got the 5000k color temperature, since I wanted the most amount of light possible, and I'm not really into the blue and purple temperatures. It lights up the road like daytime, but the projectors have such a severe cutoff that I sometimes can't see things until they come into the light and I'm right on top of them! I'm sure they would be even better with the stock headlights, but other drivers might be blinded by all the light!
