I have a 2000 mustang gt convertible it has 109k its a auto. The idle in my car in park is around 900-1000 and highway speeds it's around 2500 when I put the air on today it was idling around 6-700 and I am not really sure what is causing the high idle

check for a vacuum leak by listening for a whistling noise under the hood while the engine is idling. also could be a stuck IAC( idle control) valve

I unplugged the iac and it the idle went down by a 100 rpm

cant be 100% sure without a scanner, but that sounds like its working normal. have you had any recent work done?

Those idle speeds for an auto are just about right.

Before it idled in park at 600 rpm now it's at 1000 and there are no codes
