High speed tranny problem (T45)

Hi,

whenever I'm driving faster than 120mph (what's common in Germany), I'm getting very bad vibrations out of my tranny. For me, it sounds like the main shaft has excessive play in the bearings (I don't know the internals of a tranny, but that's how it sounds, regarding the pitch and frequency). It doesn't matter if I am in fifth or in neutral.

The vibrations are forwarded to the shifter - I had to replace my heavy MAC billet knob with the factory leather knob, or my shifter would have been broken off probably, really!

Yesterday's evening I checked everything that can be checked from inside the car: the shifter's bolts (Pro5.0, btw) and the adj. shift stops -> everything perfectly tight. So it has to be something inside the tranny.

Maybe the at this time already fixed vibrations of my driveshaft caused this problem over the time. Below 120mph the tranny behaves normal, all gears can be shifted good (as long as you can say this about a T45  )

Now I'm hoping that someone responds with "oh yeah, this is common and do this and that, easy fix". I don't want to give the car away to do a complete overhaul of the tranny now! :(

It has 46000mls on it.

Thank you,
Blumi
