high torque and t5z

I know quite a few of you are running WC T5s and T5zs with powerful engines. Has anyone had problems with them in a street setting?

So far I have a 302 with the trick flow top end kit (except a different intake). Trick flow has their setup rated at 350 ft lbs of torque. With that much torque I'd feel completely comfortable with a t5z, however I may be adding a supercharger later on.

With street tires on the back of the '65 convertible, do you think I'd be ok with the t5z and supercharger?

I was strongly considering a tko600 or the keisler rs600, but if i'd be ok with the t5z, it would be nice to save some money.

If you are only going to be running street tires I would think you should be ok. All you are going to do is light the tires up every time!

I personally am running a G-Force T5 (rated at 600ft/lbs) and even with my sticky drag radials the car just smokes the tires.

My car puts down more than 350 ft/lbs to the wheels, and my WC T5 (non Z) is holding up fine so far, even after hard launches at 4k on drag radials. It's been a year so far.

Not to say that it won't break if you do it, but it hasn't for me yet.
