Hissing in first gear???

hey guys, just wondering if you can help me diagnos something, i have a 2000 mustang 3.8l and when the car is cold, in first or nuetral, maybe in second two i dont know, once it gets up in the revs a little, all of a sudden you hear a sssssssssssssssssssssss. i popped the hood to hear it in nuetral, and my buddy says it sounds like a electric motor kicking in to...so...click sssssssssssssssssss click. said it sounds like its coming from the fuel rail or something, any ideas?? maybe some kind of venting or blowoff of some sort??
